History Behind the Walls
Been there recently?
Depart the pier accompanied by your knowledgeable tour guide and walk the splendid trails and ancient streets of Old San Juan. Enjoy the line of Spanish architectural buildings representing each aspect of our history and development. Learn about our now and then educational system, health establishments, social life, military fortifications, politics and general culture.
These buildings and parks tell the history beyond its walls as they also tell the story of the arrival of the United States at the beginning of the 20th century.
Be amazed with the Spaniards military strategies of the XV centuries and join your guide trough a historical journey in one of the most impressive fortifications that protected the “walled city of San Juan”: and what became the largest fort in the New World: the Castillo de San Cristobal. Nearby, you will find the impressive house of law of Puerto Rico, The Capitolio, home to the island’s Senate and House of Representatives where you will be able to take some amazing pictures.
Then, as we continue our journey, walk through “Plaza los Presidentes” and view amazing structures like the José Julian Acosta School and Casa de España, where you will learn the romantic language of the fan of the “señoritas”. Also, be stunned by the exquisite taste of the Greco-Roman classical style of the Tapia Theater, the Carnegie Library and the high end society ball room of the 19th Century, the Casino of Puerto Rico.
